According to physicians and health researchers, it is important for people of all ages to engage in physical activity and/or exercise on a daily basis. Quality of life improvements are only a small part of the benefits this will cause. Many enjoy the muscle strengthening that is a result as well as the toned muscles that come from this daily exercise too. Slower aging of the skin and bones that stay healthy and strong are added benefits of daily exercise to consider. The amount of money saved in skin care products to fight off aging signs alone is worth the effort. Plus, there are many more benefits - we'll discuss some of them below. When you experience anything that causes stress, your body releases stress hormones that prepares your body to react. In time you extract a toll on your body if you don't have a way to manage stress in your life. Many people have discovered that getting an adequate amount of exercise is a great way to handle stress. You can keep stress at bay by working to come up with an effective exercise program you do daily in addition to normal physical activity. Once you do this, you'll experience real relief as your body isn't constantly working to get rid of stress. Research has shown that the brain produces higher amounts of serotonin and endorphins when you get regular physical activity and exercise. These can be considered the brain's natural drugs, and they are responsible for what's been called the "runner's high." That elevated mood state is important for reducing the symptoms associated with depression. When you get into the habit of exercising, you can improve your overall emotional state over time. You can enjoy improved moods even by walking consistently.

People sleep better when they have been exercising on a frequent basis for a while. This advantage is not so much due to one cause, as a combined result of what happens when you work out. What happens is a decreased amount of anxiety and stress which helps to make you more relaxed. Falling asleep is also easier when your body is tired from all the exercise you've done. According to research, a regular fitness routine can help pregnant women get a better night's sleep. It is well known that carrying a baby makes getting comfortable a challenge when time to fall asleep. You'll find that there is a huge list of reasons to exercise and benefits of doing so. Even if you are limited in the exercises you're capable of doing, some exercises are better than none. If you haven't been active or exercising for a long time you should talk to your doctor before starting to exercise again. Also, if you are just getting back into things, take it easy and slow in the beginning. It is very important to start slow and be patient. Do this to have a lower risk of injury and a greater likelihood of results that are sustainable.
