You can find hundreds of suggestions for ab workouts if you search online. You can take a class, buy a machine, go to your gym or do exercises at home. When you choose any exercise program, you need to remember your own goals and fitness levels. There are many machines that help you with ab workouts, but if you look at them closely you'll find that most of them have you do an exercise that's similar to traditional crunches in one form or another. This is because the "crunch" motion is what will work and stimulate the ab area best though the exercise or machine you choose will most likely vary the target between your upper and lower abs. Weighted crunch machines, like you will find at gyms, no matter what brand they may be, are good because they let you control exactly how much resistance is there and you can work your way up to heavier weights. Machine weighted crunches are typically a lot more effective than traditional crunches.

Ab workouts can be done in many ways though the muscle groups that get targeted are all basically the same. Besides doing ab exercises, though, you need to make sure you also do cardio and resistance training for the rest of your body. If you are persistent and recognize that real results can take some time, you can benefit a great deal from the kind of ab workouts covered above.
