New Season, New Wardrobe - But Can You Fit Into It?

With the change of season in the air, of course it's time to change your wardrobe to go with it. Sometimes, however, you find that you can't fit into your clothes the way you could a year ago. According to studies, about two out of five adults feel that they have to lose a good ten pounds to fit into their bathing suits. It's little surprise why so many people want to go on a diet these days.

If you're beginning a weight loss program to get your body ready for the season, here are some tips to help you get started:

Challenge Yourself. Bring that sense of urgency out of you. Set goals and be aware of them every day.

Set a Date. This would refer to your weight loss plan - this time it's okay to jump the gun, because the earlier you start, the more time you have to lose those nasty pounds. The weight loss program you choose should be one you can easily follow.

The Buddy System. Enlist the support of a friend to help you meet your weight loss goals. Reliable research tells us that people working in tandem with a buddy have a greater chance of sticking to their diet than "free agents" working solo.

The Garden of "Eatin'." Eat more fruits and vegetables. Your waistline will be very grateful you chose these nutritious, delicious foods.

Put Some Spring in Your Step. You don't have to sign up at your nearby gym (though maybe you might) or take up sports so late in the game - even brisk walking can be of help here. Twenty minutes should cut it.

Party Hearty (But Healthy) An unorthodox way to lose weight would be by getting your friends involved and throwing a dinner party with healthy foods. Instead of the usual pork and beef for your barbecue parties, try grilling lean meat like chicken and tuna. To add some zing in your cooking, use unusual condiments and spices.

SMS - Strategic Meal Schedule. Studies show that eating smaller meals throughout the day can be effective in the weight loss process because they help to curb your hunger. If you eat six small meals a day, you will feel less hungry in between meals. Plan your meals in advance to avoid last-minute splurges.

Water World. Being hydrated is important if you are physically active. But don't confuse this with drinking a soda or a glass of lemonade, or maybe some iced tea. We're talking about water, the most basic and effective drink to quench your thirst.
