To say that stress is something that can really ruin your diet and make you put on weight might sound strange, cream buns and chocolate brownies would probably be more obvious problems. When we get stressed then we all have our own way of dealing with that, however the most common way of coping is to gorge on nice tasting food to try and cheer ourselves up. That's why you hear about people eating a whole tub of ice cream when they break up from their partner, in fact I have read that eating junkfood can be as addictive as taking drugs, our minds crave more and more.
Which means if you want to successfully lose weight then you need to keep an eye on your mood and try to stop yourself getting into situations that will stress you out. Unfortunately for anyone who works for someone else then that can be really hard as you have to contend with arrogant co-workers, bosses who never listen to you and an ever-increasing workload.
The first thing you need to do to combat this is to find a good diet, you can read about a good meal replacement diet in this Medifast diet review. Then you need to find some way to stop yourself getting too stressed out, you can't completely avoid stress as often it is just a part of our day, but you need to find a way to deal with it.
Most of the time we let stress build up and we don't do anything to release the frustration that we feel. Unfortunately that means your muscles will be tensed up, leading to aches and pains and fatigue, plus you don't get any mental break from the stress either. Exercise is a great way to stretch your muscles and release that pent up stress, particularly if you get to channel your stress into an opponent or a ball! Something like golf is great for this, the action of hitting the ball helps you to release any anger and frustration you might be feeling, plus the fresh air and walking help you to relax.
Yoga is another form of exercise that will really help you to relax. It is not too taxing (at first) so you don't have to worry about being unfit when you start, and you will be toning up your body, strengthening your core and making yourself more flexible! It is important you find something to release the stress with though, just sitting on the couch stewing over your day while you watch TV is not going to do anything but make it worse.
