The Benefits Of Maintaining A Good Posture



Practicing a proper posture makes a number of benefits and great physical impressions. A person who maintains a good posture by drawing in the abdominal muscles and gently pressing the upper body out can look taller and thinner. Your confidence and self-esteem will be improved. In return, people will look to you with great respect. In social graces, good posture is a part of etiquette that you must adhere to.

The way you carry yourself in the public is already a social statement. You establish a body language which mirrors your emotions. Bad posture may send a message that your unhappy and uncomfortable.Importantly, bad back posture may result to a number of health problems. They range from neck and back pains to persistent headaches and hypertension. Slouching while standing up, you are putting undue strain to your lower back that may cause spinal disc damage and back pains.

Bad back posture can also affect the proper placements of your internal organs such as the lungs and heart that can lead to breathing issues and pains in the chest area. The key to improving posture is through constant practice. You need to be conscious of your physical movements every time. When you sense that you are already slumping, straighten your back and consciously maintain that position.

While sitting, make sure that your lower back is supported and your body posture is always straight. Remember to always bend your knees when picking up something. Working out will also help you enhance your posture gradually. Focus on strengthening your core muscles. Quick exercises like compressing your shoulder blades together for 30 seconds or raising your arms will also help.
