Of course sugar is empty calories, and all those substitutes have calories as well as possible health issues as claimed by some. Tea can be a bit different when it comes to making it sweet, and if you want a little taste you can try natural lemon juice. The thing about adding juice to coffee is understandable if that totally does not appeal to you, and personally I would not like that.

It would be a good idea to decrease the use coffee enhancers, like cream for example. Once you add a bunch of stuff like syrups and flavored sweeteners, you have just increased the calorie content by seven hundred calories or so per cup. Imagine, just a single cup! If you simply must have your caffeine intake each morning and are craving something sweet, choose a shot of espresso with a dollop of whipped cream on top to sweeten up the beverage. Consider that you have managed to keep from ingesting another six hundred calories that you did not need and will hardly notice the change. There is no reason to never eat your favorite foods again; you simply need to make some conscious and smart decisions when it comes to counting and reducing your calorie intake. When you bond extra physical activity with a basic, healthy food regimen, you will be amazed how fast you will shed pounds.
