The Immune System And What Causes Diseases And Illnesses

The world that we live in is a harsh one. Darwin's theory of evolution states that the strong will survive. In the course of evolution, our species stood out amongst the rest. We developed to be the most advanced and intelligent creatures in the world.

Our survival depended a lot on our immunities. Bacteria, viruses, microorganisms and other harmful elements such as pathogens exist everywhere and our survival depended much on our immune system.

The immune system helps us keep harmful organisms from getting into our bodies. The immune system prevents these organisms from invading our bodies. Without this natural protection system, our body is like a city open for invasion. Imagine a decaying body.

In a couple of hours upon death, microorganisms start decomposing it. The immune system automatically halts to a stop when the body dies. Imagine what will happen to us if our immune system shuts down while we are still alive.

Weak bodies have weak immune system. With weak and sickly bodies, its so easy to get infected. The most common among these bacteria or viral diseases are tonsillitis, croup and angina. Lacking in defense mechanisms will allow the body to get infected.

Croup or laryngotracheobronchitis is a respiratory condition which is due to an infection of the upper respiratory tract. The throat infection is caused by a certain virus. The treatment to this disease is epinephrine, steroids and antiviral treatments.

Tonsillitis on the other hand is inflammation of the tonsils due to viral or bacterial infection. Tonsillitis is commonly accompanied by fever and flu. Tonsillitis caused by bacteria can be treated with antibiotics. But for virus induced tonsillitis, no treatment has been found. Chronic tonsillitis on the other hand requires tonsillectomy.Maintaining a strong immune system is essential to keep a body healthy. The best way to ward of illnesses and diseases is to prevent them from invading the body.
