Ask yourself - why lots of men and women exercise frequently, but do not make any muscle gains? A lot of people will jerk the weights up and down, believing that the most beneficial factor for muscle growth, is lifting as much as possible,. It's not. If you can "move" the weight with horrible form and execution that doesn't mean you are doing the right thing for your muscles. In reality, you will be sabotaging your success.
Best way to gain muscle is possible only when using strict, proper form.
Your muscles can't recognize if the weight was increased, if you started to use momentum for lifting. So 30 pounds will be far more effective than 50 if you will use a strict and slow movement.
A lot of people are observing biggest guys inside the gym and starting to imitate them. That is plain wrong, and certainly not the best way to gain muscle! And possibly they use steroids, that's why you can't keep up. Plus they might use steroids, and you just can't keep up with them. And of top of that what works for one person could be useless or even harmful for another. So leave your ego at home, and start real weight training.
However, some people train improperly because they got wrong advice from their friends or other guys in the gym. Usually, you will always find a guy in the gym who knows everything. He read all the books and tried all kind of exercises and training routines, but still looks just above average at most. Why do you listen to such people? They don't know nothing about best way to gain muscle! In fact you should not listen to anyone in the gym, except qualified professional trainers.
A different well-known fault is overestimating strength. A lot of guys feel that they're able to deal with the weights, if they bounce it off the chest, arch their back, and use their legs for doing bench press. They may begin with 135 pounds, and after that increase the weight to 225, already on the second set, and they try to bounce the bar for 3-4 half reps. It is hilarious. Obviously, it is not the best way to gain muscle, it is the worst! Your goal at the gym is to stimulate muscle growth not to show off.
In order to avoid this, create simple pyramid-type sets, which you can do with the good technique and form. Be honest about weights you can handle. Don't be upset to start training with lower weights. Your strength gains will going to be incredible, if you will start to lift slowly, with good form. Just add 2-2.5 pounds on the bar on next workout. Just do this gradually. For those who will try and increase the weight by ten pounds, it's going to result in improper lifting form and injuries.
Also it's essential to shorten your workout routines. Lower the amount of sets per exercise, to 2-3 from 4-5, but raise the intensity. This will greatly increase your gains. Training for 2 hours is absurd. And especially, if you are talking for 30-40 minutes out of those two hours. Remember, that strength and size will come with time. Just be patient and consistent.
The Best Way To Gain Muscle = Good Form!
