A Review Of Elliptical Trainers

When we were presented with reviewing the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, we were skeptical, we must admit. After all, we have reviewed many elliptical trainers through the years and we haven't found one that stands along amongst the competition. One thing that this trainer had going for it was the fact that it was made by Schwinn, which is a very reputable company that knows bikes and even exercise equipment. So, with that in mind, we set about reviewing the 430 to see if it would give is a better workout than all the others.

For All Skill Levels?

When most people go searching for new elliptical trainer, they make the purchase on the skill level (and the cost of course). The reason this is so important is because you either purchase one for beginners, or one for experts. There doesn't really seem to be too many companies that offer both. However, the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer advertises that their elliptical is for any skill level. Obviously we were intrigued by this, so we got a couple people (beginner and expert) to try out the elliptical and provide us with their thoughts.

The individual with no experience found that he got a full body workout without having to spend a lot of time getting used to the elliptical's movements. And even the experienced individual found that he was challenged by the Schwinn 430 Elliptical. He said he found that it combined upper and lower body flexibility nicely and that it provided impact-free motion. That's just what we would look for in an elliptical trainer. But we still weren't convinced. We wanted to test out the other features to see if it truly stood out amongst all the others on the market.

Special Features

We were bound and determined to find something about the Schwinn 430 Elliptical that would cause us to group it with all the other machines like it. However, this model comes with BioGlide motion technology that makes the movements seem natural. The machine is also comfortable to use because of the unit's BioFit comfort footpads and handlebars.

Another area that is extremely beneficial is the eight computer controlled resistance levels. These provide everything from a manual program and 6 profile program, to a calorie goal function and your standard quick-start function seen on most elliptical machines.

Easy to Store

Storing options are always important, especially if you don't have room for anything else in your home. Add in the stride only being 18 inches long, and those who have apartments will still be able to enjoy it.

The only drawback that we found when we used the Schwinn 430 is that the user can only be 275 lbs. or under. While that still may accommodate most people, there are some people out there who will find that inconvenient because they'll be too heavy to use it.

We're happy to report that the Schwinn 430 turns out to be better than most elliptical trainers out there. We've reviewed so many in the past; it was a bit refreshing to hear what our test subjects had to say about this option. So if you're experienced and don't think there is another machine out there to challenge you, the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer can make it happen. Beginners can enjoy it too, so strongly consider the 430, because we were presently surprised by the results.
